Cinnamon Eggnog
1/2 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups milk
2 egg whites
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cinnamon to taste
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
dash of Ground nutmeg
Beat 1/3 cup of sugar into egg yolks. Add salt and stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till mixture coats spoon. Cool. Beat the egg whites till foamy. Gradually add 3 tablespoons of sugar, beating to soft peaks. Add to the custard and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and flavoring. Chill 3 to 4 hours. Our into punch bow or cups. Dot with "islands" of whipped cream; dash with nutmeg. Serves 6 to 8.
